Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Services
The General Services Administration (GSA) needed mechanical and plumbing installation services for a new 465,000-square-foot, 17-story federal courthouse. A LEED Silver certification was desired for the federal courthouse. The GSA also needed renovation services to the lobby of the existing Schwartz courthouse.
MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS
UMEC was responsible for the installation of all mechanical and plumbing systems. This included: 19 air handlers producing 337,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM); three cooling towers; three chillers totaling 1,560 tons of cooling capacity; and four boilers totaling 8,000 MBH.
UMEC also led the building information modeling (BIM) process.
The GSA provides workplaces by constructing, managing, and preserving government buildings, and by leasing and managing commercial real estate. The GSA's acquisition solutions offer private sector professional services, equipment, supplies, and IT to government organizations and the military. They also promote management best practices and efficient government operations through the development of governmentwide policies.
